Sylhet Division occupies the north east part of Bangladesh, has an area of 12,596 sq. km and a population of 7.899 million. There are 4 districts and 14 municipalities. It is a natural hilly, forest area with bow lakes and famous shrines.




Mahasthanagar-Bogura is a town, and one of the oldest towns in northern Bangladesh. It is  within the Bogra District and located under the Rajshahi Division, was a town and district of British-India, in the Rajshahi Division of eastern Bengal and Assam. Bogra is sometimes described as the nerve centre of Northern Bangladesh.Former president of Bangladesh Ziaur Rahman and Muhammad Ali a former Prime Minister of Pakistan both were born in the district.
